This is a call to artists and galleries for an artistic movement that will bring us together during these dark times, highlight the wrongs that our country is facing, support science, planned parenthood, people of all ethnicities, the LGBTQIA community, immigrants of all statuses, diverse religious faiths, and take a stand against Trump to show solidarity for the people that are facing these fears.
As the Women's March was a great step forward to uniting the people, in their words, "We are confronted with the question of how to move forward in the face of national and international concern and fear."
Artistic expression is important during these trying times and serves many functions in political protest. Forging a sense of belonging and common purpose, we can use our skills to communicate a collective narrative, articulating who we are, where we come from, what we stand for and what we are against, aimed at producing knowledge and solidarity.
To create a great impact with imagery, voicing our opinions and solidarity for our communities. Creating more than an art show but an art movement that is large enough to be displayed across the country in several galleries to be united for human rights and strength for the people.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:
If you're an artist, you can help by creating a piece of artwork that will further our narrative, creating a voice for the people, our communities, and our country.
If you're a gallery owner, you can help by offering a space to display the artwork that will further our narrative, creating a voice for the people, our communities, and our country.
If you're a curator, you can help organize communication and the process of the shows to further our narrative, creating a voice for the people, our communities, and our country.
If you're anything else, please feel free to contact us if you'd like to help in any way.
To show support of our cause, the majority of the proceeds will be donated to the programs we are defending, such as: Planned Parenthood, NASA, NEA, OVW, etc. Details of the proceeds will be established further by discussions with the galleries that would like to participate and their request. I will be adding thorough information of all proceeds once that is established with all participants.
